During this sixty minute session, I begin with an assessment that is done on top of the sheet, it is easier for me to locate and explore your trigger points and "knots" and trouble areas, they sort of silently scream for my hands to examine them. A lot of times I will use heat packs or hot stones to soften exceptionally tight areas. This also gives you a couple of minutes to get used to my touch and pressure, it helps set the pace and expectations for the rest of the hour.
After five or sometimes ten minutes of "tenderizing" I get to work starting on the back getting it softened and relaxed then I move to the hip joints and legs, I spend a few minutes there before I move back up to work on the back one last time before I have you flip over, I touch into your feet and legs then move up to the arms and shoulders and end working with the neck. It's a lot to cover in an hour and I usually can tell which areas need more attention and so I will cut out time from other healthy areas to devote to the problem areas.
One of the primary goals of massage is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Both Deep Tissue and therapeutic massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
This massage is ideal for those who suffer from headaches, tension, who sleep wrong or have an issue that doesn't require a full hour of massage. This forty minute massage only focuses on the head, neck back and shoulders - very common places to hold tension.
Muscle tension, aches and pains can often hold us back from doing the things we want or need to do. A head, neck, back and shoulder massage is very relaxing and targets the places you hold the most build up of stress – I will find your desired level of pressure, whether you need a strong massage to relieve built up tension, or a gentle yet effective and tranquil experience if you need a break and a rest from busy life.
A head, neck, back and shoulder massage is a wonderful way to ease shoulder and neck tension or a "kink" in the neck from strain or sleeping wrong, all while gaining a peaceful retreat from the outside world. It also will relieve that pain in between the shoulder blades, as well as that catch you might feel in your mid to low back when twisting or reaching.
